Carla Carpenter, DO, FACOG

Dr. Carla Carpenter grew up in the southern suburbs of Chicago. She received her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology from Northwestern University in and her medical degree from Des Moines University. She completed her residency training at Michael Reese/University of Illinois combined program. Dr. Carpenter is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Carpenter has been in private practice in the western suburbs since completing her internship and residency. She practices full scope obstetrics and gynecology, including high risk obstetrics. However, her special interests include complex vulvar and vaginal dermatologic disorders. For this she has done significant additional medical education and continues to do so. Getting to know her patients on a personal level throughout the 20 + years of her practice has been the most unexpected and greatest joy of practicing medicine. She feels grateful to be in a profession where she can serve women and hopefully improve their quality of life and health. The love of the nature a big part of Dr. Carpenter's personal life. She enjoys gardening, skiing, biking and fly fishing in addition to occasionally lying in a hammock reading about current events and politics and celebrity gossip. Dr. Carpenter lives in the western suburbs with her husband.
