Birth Control

This is a very brief overview of the different contraception options that we offer that are available today. Please talk with your healthcare provider about what is best for you.

Hormonal contraception

This is most commonly known as oral birth control. It has been available for over 60 years and comes in a variety of doseages. There is also a device with the same hormones that are slowly released from a ring that sits comfortably in the vagina and needs to be changed once a month. Hormonal contraception can also be injectable, once every three months.

Nexplanon

Nexplanon lasts for 3 years and provides excellent contraception. It is inserted into the arm and lasts for 3 years.

Intrauterine device (IUD)

An IUD is placed by your practitioner in our office and provides excellent birth control that lasts for 5 or 10 years depending on the device.
